Micro Collar Shirt- These seem to be popping up more and more often on the high street.

Whilst recently shopping for a suitable shirt to wear with a suit to a Christmas party i realised that i didn’t want a shirt with a big goofy looking collar, like so many available and that i wanted a more slim, sleek looking collar. Here’s where the micro collar comes in.

Now until recently the only brands i have seen utilising the micro collar to desirable effect are Fred Perry and Paul Smith. Both respectable brands in my eyes but i decided to go for the Paul Smith.

Apart from the attraction of the collar, there are many other facets to this style of shirt which attract me, the attention to detail is far superior to your standard button up shirt. The cuffs are smaller and the placket is much smaller in width. Basically everything on the shirt is smaller and therefore giving you a much sleeker more tailored look.

Now I’m not saying i don’t like classically shaped shirts, most of the shirts i have, i love. The micro collar just brings a great alternative to add to your collection.

Some pictures below of a few pieces from the Spring 2010 collection from Hawaiian based brand In4mation.

Some real nice reversible shirts and a jacket, and our favourite being the grey crew neck, some real nice stitching detail on the shoulders. They have centered the collection around “easy to grab and go” clothing.

HUF Mountain Coat - Received this in the mail on Tuesday. Ordered from Flatspot.com.

I had been eyeing this coat up for a while but i’m always weary about buying online as you do not get to try it on. Although you can return it, this is normally a very a stressful task.

I’m a long time fan of the mountain style parka, and this one really caught my eye, now it cost £150 which isn’t too bad, But the coat is reasonably minimal for the price. More of a jacket than a coat as it is quite short, total length comes in at around 27” which is unusual for a coat of this style.

Overall i’m won over, the cut is great and although short still looks good. The Chest pockets won’t get much usage but the waist pockets are just right for storing your wallet, keys or phone. The best pockets are the hand warmers behind the waist pockets. These are a must have for me on any jacket as i have a habit of always walking around with my hands in my pockets.
The cuffs are adjustable which is also nice to see, nothing worse than baggy cuffs.

The lining of the jacket is olive green, with black draw strings that have “HUF Quality Garments” sewn in. These are on the hood and waist which are both adjustable, they can be worn inside or outside the jacket.

This coat is not waterproof and i would say although being called a mountain coat, it is best worn in summer.

Apologies for the relentless Nike SB posts, but the truth is there isn’t much out there at the moment that is wetting our appetite the way that Nike are!

So just a little sneak peak at some photos from the Bright Tradeshow in Frankfurt. A very interesting show room with some bizarre props that link up with the skate mental collab from late on in 09.

Look at those Black Blazer mid’s with the gum midsole, Beautiful!
Anyway, just wanted to show you a little peek of whats to come from SB in 2010.

Erick Arc Elliott - Noir.

Been listening to this all day and man is it good! I can’t remember the last record/mixtape i listened to all the way through the first time and loved every track.

Brooklyn based MC Erick Arc Elliott released this on the 01/01/10 for download and i highly recommend it to anyone who likes Kayne, Drake, Kid Cudi etc.
Some real deep lyrics on this which is why i compare to Kayne, Cudi and Drake as their heartfelt lyrics and large amounts of singing are being dubbed the new era of hip hop. But please don’t be put off by this as there is no gimmicks on this, just straight up hip hop from start to finish.

Nike SB P Rod Collection - A five minute video with P-Rod himself showing us around his new signature collection for Nike.

I’m not really into any of the pieces on show, never been a fan of any of the P-Rod shoes, but he is a great skater and i feel this is an interesting video to see how far he has come in skating.

HUF - Flatspot have re-stocked on the latest offerings from HUF.

Lots of nice 5 panel caps. The highlight for us being the one above. HUF bring a really fresh approach to the 5 panel using this woven Navajo style. This will be a good substitute for a beanie during the cold months.

They have also re-stocked the Hooded Mountain Coat and a few other bits and pieces that are all well worth your hard earned.

Be sure to hurry as they are already sold out on a few items!

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski “Army” - Another one of the numerous colourways for the Janoski.
Definitely Nike SB’s most successful shoe of 2009 and it looking stronger than ever for 2010.

Features a dark green suede and corduroy upper, white contrast stitching on the toe box and a white midsole.
Like all the other Janoski’s they come with the leather deck shoe style laces, this time in green and some white back up round laces.

Colourway is perfect for the up and coming seasons and will be a must have for skaters and non skaters alike.

This time for Spring 2010 the Green Leaf blazer as you can tell by the name has a green suede upper, white leather swoosh and white midsole.

Nike SB- a new colourway for the SB blazer..always something we want to hear.

Here we have the Gold leaf and Insignia Blue Blazer…Wow! what a colourway. Beautiful gold suede upper, blue suede swoosh and white midsole. This is the basis to every blazer that we love. White midsole and two colours on the upper.
These also come with 2 sets of laces, blue and white as shown above.

We personally prefer the blue as they reminds us of the great Adidas Malmo and that is never a bad thing.

Not great for winter as pictured but these should be a summer classic. Most of us here will definitely be copping a pair of these for the summer!

The shoe will be available in the Spring 2010 collection.. not too sure when they will arrive in the UK but will update when we know more.

Sperry Top Sider 75th anniversary collection: Seeing as we’re on a run of anniversary based posts. Here we see an example of Sperry’s 75th year collection.

Now we feel that the deck shoe is a classic piece of footwear that has obviously been popular for many years. However we do feel that this past summer was deck shoe overload.
They were everywhere! and unfortunately not always looking good. some really cheap looking versions were all over the shop. Thank goodness for Sperry! and their extensive archive meaning they were able to come out on top of the deck shoe craze this past summer! At least in our opinion.

Featured above is just one of many shoes to be released for the 75th anniversary.

We have picked this one as we love the combination of the sea foam green canvas with the vans authentic style midsole creating a more sporty look compared to the traditional deck shoe. We will definitely be grabbing a pair of these to rock with some nice khaki shorts in the summer.

make sure you look out for these spring/summer 2010.

Stussy is now 30 years old and you know it is it still going strong. Our all time favourite brand has released some 30th anniversary pieces for their 2010 spring collection, this is just a preview, there will be more to come.

Shown above is a polo and baseball style what looks to be a 3/4 length sleeve shirt, showcasing Stussy’s timeless appeal and classic cut and style.

Nike ACG x Wood Wood Lunar Wood TZ - Now i know we are a little late on these, but this is more about suitable winter footwear than being the first to showcase new products.

Living in Nottingham, England we do not tend to get a lot of nice weather. Especially during the autumn/winter period of the year. Snow, Rain and mud aren’t great conditions for a pair of Suede SB’s or Adi Originals and we love suede trainers!

The biggest problem we have is that the outdoor shoe/trainer market has never offered anything that interested us…until now.

Nike ACG have really stepped up their game recently and the collaboration with European Brand and store: Wood Wood has to be the highlight of the ACG 2009 shoe line.

The best thing about the shoe is that it doesn’t look like an outdoor shoe, it looks really fresh. The purpose of the shoe was to take the original wildwood and turn it into a more street based running shoe. Fusing a wildwood upper with a lunar midsole, it is a combination of the two which makes for a simply beautiful shoe which has been designed specifically for cold wet winter nights.

These are a must have for us as they fit our winter needs perfectly. Now we just have to find a store that still has some left.
